Our leadership program helps create awareness of the challenges we face as individuals and as teams while developing the skills necessary to make ourselves, and the businesses we work for, the best that they can be.

These days more than ever, businesses are having to work extra hard to find new ways to attract and retain highly talented individuals.  Millennials are progressing into senior leadership positions, while Gen Z are maturing beyond entry level positions.  Each group is unique in their own way while also sharing the aspiration to become more confident leaders.

This is where The Collaboration Partners and our Leadership Development programs come in.  Throughout our interactive sessions participants will learn how to manage diverse personalities, resolve conflict among team members, and set healthy boundaries to create a collaborative work environment where everyone thrives.

Equipping tomorrow’s leaders with the skills necessary to be highly successful.

Self-Awareness and Social Awareness

Over the past 25 years, research on leadership development has shown that self-aware leaders are more likely to be successful…

This is because they are better able to adjust to a variety of environments while also continually impacting those around them in a more positive way.

Horses have proven to be quite masterful in helping guide people to heightened levels of self-awareness, while constantly providing non-judgmental feedback to those they interact with.  They help quickly break down barriers and enable people to not only learn, but learn by doing, which is why they play such a prominent role in our learning programs.

Communication and Leadership Styles

Traditional leadership development programs often promote one style and language that everyone should aspire to.  But this simply is…

not the best way to get the most out of people as everyone has a different personality and a different set of skills that influence how they lead and communicate.

Our programs provide a physically and psychologically safe environment for people to explore different leadership styles as well as how to modify their communication style to create a desired impact in different situations.

The Power to Influence Others

Strong and effective leaders know how to apply pressure on others in order to influence behavior and create a positive outcome…

But for many in leadership the ability to influence can feel like an elusive and difficult set of skills to learn and the notion of ‘applying pressure’ is not a pleasant one.

Horses on the other hand use pressure all the time to influence each other and to move the herd in order to best manage their surrounding environment.  They are excellent at demonstrating how an appropriate level of pressure can be both highly productive and a natural and healthy part of any group dynamic.

Paying attention to what's going on

Leaders are expected to know what’s going on both in their immediate environment and the broader environment that they operate in…

For new leaders or those moving into higher level leadership positions, this can be challenging because until now, they’ve been focused on completing their own projects without having to pay attention to what’s going on with the people they are leading.

As prey animals, horses are constantly noticing what is happening both close by and in the distance.  When we work with them, they ensure we notice what they notice, so that we can learn to decide what actions need to be taken to move rapidly and decisively in the direction needed.

Navigating Problems and Resolving Conflict

New leaders tell us that dealing with conflict is one of the primary sources of stress they experience.  This is normal, as conflict…

can be perceived as a threat to relationships.  But when leaders learn to identify the underlying issues that may be driving or even creating conflict then they can learn to respond accordingly.

Our programs create the opportunity for leaders to learn how to set healthy boundaries that empower them to experience and manage conflict in a manner that maintains relationships while continuing to achieve organizational goals.

Courses on emotional intelligence are one of the most common topics in learning and development.  But Emotional Intelligence isn’t something that can be learned from a book, it’s something that needs to be experienced.  And experienced in an environment where people feel free to experiment different ways of leading, without fear of failure or judgement from others.

Horses are renowned for have high emotional intelligence, because in many ways their lives depend on it.  By incorporating horses into the learning sessions we give participants first-hand experience to what emotional intelligence is, the role it plays in leading others and ultimately how it can be applied in every day life.
